A Break for the Guides

Posted by liaso (Bay Area, United States) on 13 June 2008 in People & Portrait.

Due to the snow and ice on the Tongariro Crossing, it was recommended to us that we use guides for the long walk. Stu and Dan were great guides, very nice, and a lot of fun. I took this picture during our lunch break at the emerald lakes, which I will hopefully post a picture of soon.

I always have trouble taking photographs of people. Usually they end up looking generic or posed. Although this is not a true candid, I felt it really captured their spirits and I'm quite happy with it.
