This self-portrait was taken in Red Rock Canyon on my recent trip to Las Vegas (first Sunday in March). I loved the way my shadow brought out the designs of the ripples.

I also took one that had a slightly more feminine shape to the shadow. I liked the silhouette better in the linked photo, but preferred the background in this one. It was tough to decide which I liked better, but in the end I decided the background was quite important.

Both photos have had their levels played with, although the posted photo was mainly a contrast fix, while the linked photo was more a color fix. The posted photo was cropped, the linked photo was not. No modifications were made to focus. The designs come from the wind and light playing on the water.
