Chasing Sun

Today, following my sojourn to the gym after work, I exited the building to see a beautifully colored sunset. Pinks, both light and dark, and orange filled the sky. I had my camera, but not much of a picture, as buildings blocked a fair amount of the view. So I hustled to my car, only to have red catch me at all three lights on the way to the bay. The drive to unencumbered landscape only took 5-7 min, but that was long enough for the sun to sink behind the city, leaving me without much to photograph. At least I was able to see a beautiful sunset.

The reason I was chasing sun: it was one of the few times I had seen it all day. Yup, it is once again gray and damp. (It drizzled rather than rained today, but still, all grayness and gloom.)

That made me very glad that I had taken a 50 min walk for lunch on Monday. I even got a few photos out of it. While the sky in the background of this picture is not a brilliant blue, the faded quality matches the subject. Bonus, I seem to have captured some of that elusive sun I've been seeking for so long.

(The building is, I believe, part of Townhouse Bar and Grill in Emeryville. The parking lot in which I took the picture is definitely Townhouse's lot.)
